EventClock (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use EventClock (the “Service”).

1. Who We Are

2. What Data We Collect

a. Account Information

  • Email address (required for login or account recovery).
  • First and last name (if provided by social login).
  • Additional authentication data from social providers (Google, Apple, Facebook, X) such as profile photo or display name, if applicable.
  • User preferences (e.g., time zone, unit preferences) if you are logged in.

b. Automatically Collected Data

When you use the Service, we collect general device and usage information via self-hosted Umami analytics, including:

  • Pages visited (page URLs)
  • Referrer information (previous web page address, if available)
  • Browser name and version
  • Operating system
  • Device type (desktop, tablet, mobile)
  • Screen size
  • Country (broadly derived from web request)
  • Time and date of each visit

We do not store IP addresses or any data that could directly identify you.

c. Local Storage

  • Certain preferences/settings (such as time zone or units) are stored on your device/browser using local storage.
  • These settings are not transmitted to our servers unless you are logged in and choose to save preferences.

d. No Sensitive Data

  • We do not collect payment information, government identifiers, or medical data.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate and authenticate users for EventClock (via Supabase authentication).
  • To provide personalization (settings, language, time zone rendering, etc.).
  • To analyze anonymized usage for improving our service (via Umami analytics).
  • To communicate necessary information (e.g., account-related notices).

4. Legal Basis for Processing

If you reside in the EEA/UK, we process your information as necessary to provide the Service and to comply with legal obligations.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

  • Authentication: We use cookies and session storage to manage authenticated sessions (via Supabase).
  • Analytics: We use self-hosted Umami, which does not store personal or IP address data.
  • Local Storage: Used for storing user preferences/settings (e.g., time zone, units).

6. Third-Party Services

  • Supabase: Authentication and user management. Data location: EU-North-1 (Stockholm, Sweden).
  • Google, Apple, Facebook, X: Used solely for sign-in purposes, if you elect to use them.
  • Umami: Self-hosted analytics; does not share or sell data to third parties.

We do not sell or share user data with third parties beyond those listed above.

7. Availability

Users from any country may use EventClock, subject to these Terms and this Privacy Policy. If you are under 16, you may not use EventClock.

8. User Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data (email, account data, preferences).
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Download your data (upon request): This includes your email address, social login identifiers, account creation and activity timestamps, and any user preferences stored on your account.

9. Data Storage & Security

  • User data is stored in Supabase’s EU-North-1 region (Stockholm, Sweden).
  • All connections to EventClock are served over HTTPS (via Vercel), encrypting data in transit.
  • Access controls and authentication are enforced through Supabase.
  • Umami analytics is self-hosted, protected by strong passwords, and regularly updated.
  • Only authorized personnel have server/data access.

10. Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law. If you delete your account, your data is removed within a reasonable period.

11. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly allow users under 16. If a parent or guardian learns their child has provided us with personal information, contact us for removal.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
